Description

Ochsner Clinic Foundation is offering an advance fellowship (level of junior faculty with limited privileges) in cardiothoracic transplant and mechanical device surgery. This fellowship is designed for board-eligible candidates who have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Cardiothoracic surgery or General Surgery or equivalent and are seeking further expertise in the field of heart and lung failure. The fellow will participate in all aspects of heart and lung transplant (candidate selection, organ procurement, operation, postoperative care, and post-transplant care), VAD and ECMO, and adult cardiac surgery.

Qualifications:
• MD or MD/PhD
• Eligibility for Ochsner Medical Center Medical Staff privileges
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Louisiana Medical License (completed 24 months of accredited training in US prior to being eligible)
• Eligibility and/or Certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or American Board of Surgery
