    Job Details
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years required.
  • Traveler Experience: unit does NOT accept first time travelers
  • Ratios: 1: 3-6, Flex based on patient populations (PCU-M/S). this position will take MS up to PCU depending on needs.
  • Shift: 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours; 13-26 weeks accepted.
  • Float Requirement: Yes, traveler will work with the CNRO(Centralized Resource Nursing Pool),Float Pool currently covers three separate campuses. Majority of shifts will be at the main campus but shift can also be scheduled and New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital and Pender Memorial Hospital. Staff are notified 2hrs before the start of the shift.
  • Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
  • PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Caring for patients across the inpatient spectrum from medical surgical, cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke.
  • UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours
  • SCRUBS: Navy
    Job Requirements
  • Skills: Telemetry, Vents
  • Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
  • *MUST Pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
  • **Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID. During times of increased census typical ratios may be higher.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours
  • RTO: No RTO for 7/14-7/27
  • Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
  • SCHEDULING TYPE: Based on scheduling gaps
    Unit Specific Information
  • FLOAT POOL UNIT
  • UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
  • Float Requirement: covers three separate campuses
    Additional Details
  • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Reporting to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster may be required.
  • Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
