- Job Details
- Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Years required.
- Traveler Experience: unit does NOT accept first time travelers.
- Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes.
- Ratios: 1:3-6, Flex based on patient populations (PCU-M/S).
- This position will take MS up to PCU depending on needs.
- Shift: 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours; 13-26 weeks accepted.
- RTO: No RTO for 7/14-7/27.
- Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND.
- Patient Diagnoses: Caring for patients across the inpatient spectrum from medical surgical, cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke.
- Special Procedures / Unit Details: FLOAT POOL UNIT
- Skills: Telemetry, Vents.
- Unit Orientation: 24 hours
- Interview Availability: Manager will not offer without speaking to the candidate first.

- Float Requirement: Yes, will work with the CNRO (Centralized Resource Nursing Pool).
- Majority of shifts will be at the main campus but can also be scheduled at New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital and Pender Memorial Hospital.
- Staff are notified 2 hours before the start of the shift.
- Candidates will float all medical/Surgical floors, PCU's, Cardiac floors, Rehab, BHH, PACU, and our inpatient holding space for ED.
- Candidates will not float to the ICUs unless taking a stepdown or modified assignment with an ICU RN as primary.

- Additional Details
- Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.
- During times of increased census typical ratios may be higher.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
- Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
