- Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start.
- Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert!
- Job Details
- RTO after booking is not allowed and Is not allowed to be worked out onsite.
- Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
- WILL CERT FOR CHEMO
- Target Ratios: 1:6-7
- Shift: NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
- RTO: 7 days MAX - NO CHRISTMAS RTO; 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48.
- Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
- Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
- Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
- Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection.
- SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.
- During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher.
- Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse
- Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
- Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled.
- Attendance to monthly staff meetings.
- UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
- UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
- SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
- Job Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
- Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers.

- Skills: Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
- Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start.
- Preferred Skills / Certs / Exp: CPI. Charge nurse experience, OCN
