Joing our Cardiovascular Surgical ICU which will be a newly renovated 29 bed unit located in the new critical care tower at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The CVSU (Cardiovascular Surgical Unit) specializes in providing concentrated care and management for patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders. We focus on invasive hemodynamic monitoring, cardiovascular surgery implementation of mechanical support. CVSU provides post anesthesia care to cardiovascular patients who have received general anesthesia. The CVSU serves critically ill patients 18 years or older. Patients admitted to this unit may be receiving treatment for a variety of cardiac related but not limited to
The CVSU is a diverse group of professional staff who have received advanced education and competency in the domain of cardiothoracic services. All new admissions to CVSU are assigned to ONE RN so that each nurse can devote attention to the care of the patient until critical elements are achieved. Staffing patterns are adjusted based on the changing acuity and nursing requirements for the patient.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
