Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking an experienced Wound Care Physician Director to internalize wound care services for Kaiser Permanente members in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Our preferred candidate will be BC/BE with five years experience in Wound Care.
Initial employment will be focused on building the program, with less emphasis on clinical care. As the program becomes more established, the role will evolve to a 50/50 blend of clinical and administrative work. Our ideal candidate should be clinically exceptional, offer strong leadership acumen, and enjoy building and working alongside a great team
Position Overview:
Working for Northwest Permanente, our Wound Care Director will receive:
$379,000 – $464,000 Total Rewards Compensation*
- Salary: $308,000 - $350,000
- 21% employer contribution to retirement programs, including pension (This is not a match; NWP contributes an additional 21% of clinician earnings to retirement programs regardless of employee contribution)

- Paid annual education leave + $2K annual education allowance

Clinical Responsibilities:
- Oversight of patients with complex wounds in the region.
- Oversight of ambulatory complex wounds.
- Clinical work in the department to help reduce readmissions, shorten length of stay, and improve outcomes related to complex wounds.
- Provide oversight for wound clinic NP/PA and nursing staff.
- Lead complex case conferences for ambulatory patients with progressive non-healing wounds.
- Review of high-risk ambulatory wound care referrals and escalate as needed.
- Oversight for outpatient quality outcomes in the department.
- Respond to quality related complaints and appeals as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the administrative leadership of the wound care program including design, implementation, and growth.
- Support for utilization management to review wound cases and appeals as well as outside referrals.
- Utilization of data analytics and drive electronic health record optimization.
- Attendance at regular wound care department meetings.
- Review of policies to improve transitions in care for complex wound patients.
- Review of policies for care of complex wound patients in contracted core nursing facilities.
- Collaboration with leadership to develop program outcome measures.
- Oversight of quarterly review of outcomes as well as QA and risk management.
