Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Northwell Health and The Zucker School of Medicine seeks dynamic Board Certified/Board Eligible OBGYN to join our Staten Island University Hospital team as we expand our Women's Health services across the health system.

Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible and a graduate from an AAGL MIGS program and be eligible for a NYS license.  Clinical responsibilities will include gynecologic inpatient and outpatient care. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop a surgical referral following, as well as build a surgical MIS service with the intent for opening a future fellowship training program and participation in resident education and clinical research.

The department is in the process of applying for an AAGL MIGS Fellowship, in which the applicant will have the opportunity to become an Associate Program Director. This is the ideal opportunity for a physician to join a well-respected and successful department with an enthusiastic approach in providing a high level of quality care in women's health.  Junior and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

Our department has a fully accredited Residency Program for 4 residents per year, 3 PAs, a CNM and 13 full time faculty members.  Staten Island University Hospital is a member of the Northwell Healthcare System and is also a major academic affiliate of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. We are very proud of our comprehensive curriculum and cutting-edge clinical and surgical program, as well as our clinical commitment to resident and student training.

Staten Island University Hospital is a progressive teaching hospital located in one of the most beautiful boroughs in NYC. Staten Island is the third largest borough in New York City and is home to diverse neighborhoods, parks, natural areas, and cultural attractions. It is right over the bridge from either Brooklyn or New Jersey, or you can reach Manhattan via ferry, or less than 30 minutes via car. “The small town in the Big City” affords suburban living within the confines of the Big Apple; the best of both worlds. Wherever you roam, you will encounter breathtaking views, world class culture and education and a neighborhood to fit every palate.

We're making breakthroughs in medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. We're training the next generation of medical professionals at the visionary Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. Experience a career well cared for and make a difference in the lives of our community.

Northwell Health is committed to training, supporting and nurturing physicians from all backgrounds. We fully understand that diversity is integral for our institutional excellence and a means to attaining health equity. As a result, our diversity and inclusion efforts are a part of everything we do from education to clinical care, to research, to physician well-being.

Diversity and inclusion permeate our educational and clinical initiatives. We have set a goal to make sure every one of our physicians receive training on how to deliver high quality, culturally competent care. Our recent educational areas of focus have been on social determinants of health, community engagement and developing a medical-legal partnership for our physicians-in-training. One of our many strengths is our diverse patient population and our expectation is that our diverse patient populations receive equitable care, irrespective of who they are. As a result, we continually recruit a diverse physician workforce to meet the needs of our diverse patients.
