The Northwell Health Hospitalist Fellowship Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center is a one year, non-ACGME training program that is geared toward OB-GYNs who are interested in leadership roles in hospitalist medicine.
The fellowship program provides advanced education in hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology, focused on maximizing patient safety.
This program provides strong clinical, surgical and healthcare systems training in both academic and community hospital settings. High-quality training is given by experienced OB-GYN hospitalist, maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, family planning and anesthesiology faculty. Fellows are also exposed to national leaders in the specialty at the annual Society of OB-GYN Hospitalists meeting, where fellows can present research projects.
Applicants must have completed an accredited four-year residency training program in obstetrics and gynecology. Graduates of foreign medical schools must have a standard ECFMG certificate and completed postgraduate training in the United States. Fellows must be board eligible or board certified and will be required to have a New York State medical license.
There are approximately 9,000 births annually at LIJ Medical Center and we are a New York State Regional Perinatal Center, accepting maternal and neonatal transports and educating five affiliate institutions.
