The Northwell Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks Board Certified/Board Eligible MD or DO Physician to join our team as Assistant/Associate Director of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center (a Tertiary Hospital located in Long Island, NY) and Director of Blood Bank at Nassau University Medical center (NUMC). Required qualifications include American Board of Pathology (ABP) certification in Clinical Pathology; accredited fellowship training in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine with ABP certification/eligibility in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. The preferred individuals would have demonstrated potential leadership skills and teamwork abilities. Highlights include:
- Provide safe, visible, and accessible clinical services in a tertiary hospital transfusion and therapeutic apheresis service in support of pediatric and adult hematology, oncology, trauma, hematopoietic cell transplants and neurology, and obstetrical patients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of CAP, AABB, New York State Department of Health, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Interact with the Northwell Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Transfusion Medicine Service Line.
