This ED Tech opportunity is full time @ 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a conveninent 2pm to 10pm schedule. This dynamic ED Tech II will assist with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. Maintains environment that is prepared for patient care.

Job duties/Responsibilities:

* Provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse or physician. Performs approved procedures per policy.
* Adheres to fall precautions by performing/assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone. If assistance is needed, CCT is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient
* Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift for patients who remain in the ED that the CCT has performed direct patient care utilizing IMAP & SBAR. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
* Observes patient's mental and physical conditions, reports any changes to supervising RN.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.
One (1) year experience in acute hospital setting or with ambulance service preferred.
Current BLS Certification.
Current Advanced EMT-2 or EMT-P Certification (For ED Tech 2)
Basic arrhythmia course (may obtain within six [6] months of hire).
Medical terminology preferred

Proof of Intravenous Skills through EMT I/P program with validation of skills upon hire prior to performing without supervision
