Description
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a transformational leader who functions as the first-line shift supervisor for the unit and has the following responsibilities:
- Works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager
- Has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the organization Patient Care Services Division
- Utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay's professional nursing practice model, supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization
- Responsible for leadership and supervision of direct care staff, daily operations, leading the team to meet service goals, maintaining and promoting professional development
- Delegates care to other health care personnel consistent with their scope of practice, job description, competency
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required (Employees who are grandfathered are exempted).
Licensure:
- Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
- Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Course required within 4 months of hire.
- STABLE required within one year of hire
Experience:
- Three years of acute care experience in area of specialty required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Demonstrates skills in the following areas including but not limited to: advanced newborn assessment, neonatal resuscitation, transitioning a newborn from intra to extra uterine life, safe utilization of medications, respiratory management of the infant to include ventilatory support and nasal CPAP, transportation of the sick neonate, newborn hearing screening, CHD screening, transcutaneous bilirubin screening, developmental interventions and breastfeeding.
- The RN is responsible for assisting the provider at high risk deliveries. The RN also is responsible for supporting the neonatal transport function. The Clinical Nurse 1 will be eligible to support the neonatal transport function after 12 months of hire and successful completion and certification in STABLE.
- Attend a 4-hour Lactation Class within 6 months of hire and spend 4 hours with a Lactation Specialist during initial orientation.
- R.N.s who are assigned direct patient care (critical, intensive, intermediate, and continuing care) responsibilities in the Community NICU shall: be licensed by the State of California, have education, training, and demonstrated competency in neonatal critical care nursing as per CCR, Title 22, Sections 70016.1, 70213 ©, 70217 (a), and 70485; and RNs functioning in an expanded role shall do so in accordance with standardized procedures as per CCR, Title 16, Division 14, Article 7, Sections 1470 through 1474.
- The facility shall maintain written documentation of the qualifications and responsibilities of the RN staff which shall include at a minimum, the standards of competent performance of the RN staff providing care in the Community NICU as per CCR, Title 22, Sections 70016.1, 70213 ©, 70217, 70485.
Population Specific:
- The RN provides care to postpartum women who and transitional care to normal newborns directly after birth and provides care to newborns 0-28 days of age who are born prematurely or who have significant health problems. The RN may take care of newborns greater than 28 days of age who remain hospitalized due to health problems.
Hours of Work: 0.75FTE, 12 hour shift, Night Shift (7p-7a)

- Hourly Salary Range Min $84.26 - Max $101.62 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
