A Day in the Life: Industrial Development Management Trainee

As an Engineer in the Industrial Development department, you will be responsible for the creation of practicable engineering plans for the construction or extension of railroad track sidings into plant sites, as well as and buildings to support the efficient handling of railroad freight traffic. An engineer analyzes industrial property, produces conceptual engineering plans and provides technical railroad engineering expertise to the department and to industrial prospects.

What makes a successful Management Trainee within Industrial Development?

  • Ability to articulate and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use engineering drawing software such as Microstation/AutoCAD
  • Willing to study site information and reference material in order to resolve problems and make layouts suggestions

Education/Experience

  • Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS)
  • Preferred Majors: Civil Engineering.
