A Day in the Life of a Customer Engagement Analytics Intern
As an intern working within the Customer Engagement and growth workstream, you'll gain real life experience during your college academic career. You will develop skills related to using enterprise level data analysis tools to evaluate and create executive level dashboards from multi-sourced customer data. Your analysis will directly contribute to key stakeholder decisions and drive critical projects that will have a lasting impact on our ability to provide our customers with leading edge technical solutions that will enable them to better manage and grow their business leveraging their relationship with Norfolk Southern.

Responsibilities
• Assist in data extraction, transformation, database development, and utilizing visualization tools within Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Salesforce, CRMA, Pendo, or other for relatable tasks.
• Create and maintain dashboards from integrating data sources.
• Work with product teams to understand outcomes and create reporting, dashboarding and other reports to aid critical business decisions.
• Expose to basic customer, site user journeys, identifying potential areas of concern or opportunities.
• Manage time, prioritize work demands effectively, meet deadlines without sacrificing Risk and Audit standards of work.
• Collaborate with various levels of management while being positive and professional.
Education Required
• Pursuing Bachelors Degree or higher required.
• Active enrolled student during the months of May through August 2025
o Freshman (27 or fewer credits)
o Sophomore (28 to 59 credits)
o Junior (60 to 89 credits)
o Senior (90 or more credits)
o Graduate Student
• Degree Paths Preferred: Data Science, Data Analytics, CIS, MIS, Interactive Design or related technology fields of study.
Skills Required
• Experience with data visualization tools or query software such as Power BI, Tableau or SQL
• MS 365 Office Suite.
Soft Skills Preferred
• Motivated self-starter committed to learning.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to study reference materials, ask questions and resolve problems.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Solid interpersonal skills along with the ability to receive and grow from constructive feedback.
Work Conditions
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 12 weeks; 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
Environment: Hybrid (two days in office; three days remote)
Schedule: Monday through Friday; 9AM -5PM
