Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Assists in the planning and performance of concurrent investigations and compliance projects at the direction of management.
Assists in the development and helps coordinate the implementation of an annual communication and training plan that heightens awareness, enhances knowledge and skills, and helps to ensure compliance with The Thoroughbred Code of Ethics.
Principal Duties:
- Provides coverage for the Ethics and Compliance Hotline.
- Reviews, documents, and investigates all allegations of suspected wrongdoing, including theft, fraud or other violations of NS policy or the law.
- Accurately reports investigative findings to management and human resources in a timely manner.
- Testifies in formal company hearings and criminal / civil court proceedings.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships across all departments.
- Assists in the development of online and live training modules and formal communications for corporate-wide distribution on a variety of ethics and compliance topics.
- Supports the department in creating and maintaining web content, and communications.
Job Related Experience:
- Minimum Level: 1-2 years
- Preferred Level: 3-4 years
Education:
- Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred Majors: None Listed
Licenses / Certifications:
Required:
- Successfully pass the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam within 12 months of appointment.
- Successfully attain Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation within 18 months of appointment.
Preferred:
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
