Primary Purpose

Leads team to manage, prepare and monitor Operating Division capital budgets and expenditures, providing support and analysis to Operating Division senior management regarding financial issues.

Principal Duties

  • Manage the development and submission of capital requests. 
  • Manages the preparation and explanation of the Operations capital spending forecasts by working closely with project owners and analyzing expenditures. (Group forecasts ≈ 1,000 projects)
  • Supervises and supports the development of the $800M CAT 1 Budget and monthly review of spending, budget variances, production statistics, and CPU analysis.
  • Reviews and distills data and analyses to identify trends and opportunities requiring mgmt. action.
  • Develops and delivers presentations, reports, and dashboards to management within Operations.
  • Reviews and analyzes monthly project expenditures, prepares variance analyses, and performs special cost studies. Supports sound project mgmt and increased cost recovery from third parties.
  • Manage an array of mainframe databases containing specialized cost and production information.
  • Leads teams to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems with minimal oversight.
  • Manage projects horizontally and vertically across departments to achieve objectives which add value to the company and support the attainment of corporate goals.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and additional value generation in realm of responsibility.
  • Serves as a liaison between Operations and Finance, Accounting, and Audit.

Qualifications & Skills

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Level: Bachelor's degree (BS, BA)
  • Preferred Level: Master's degree
  • Preferred Degree Fields: Accounting, Finance, Business Management

 

Experience

  • Minimum Level: 3-5 years
  • Preferred Level:  5-7 years

 

Technical Skills:

  • MS Excel/Spreadsheets
  • MS Outlook
  • MS Powerpoint
  • MS Word/Word Processing
  • (Project, Accounting, and Material Modules)
  • Power Plant
  • Data reporting and Analytics Tools – Such as BPC, Business Warehouse, Spotfire
  • Mainframe SAS Programming or other programming languages

  • Leadership – Coach, teach, train reports to guide development and maximize impact
