Primary Purpose
Manage Norfolk Southern's road equipment fleet equipped with telemetry devices to ensure proper functioning. Interface with telemetry providers for troubleshooting or improving functionality. Provide support to maintenance partners for training, troubleshooting, installation and parts ordering as it relates to the telemetry components. Work with equipment partners and customers to notify them of alert tracking and resolution steps to mitigate potential concerns/failures of the road equipment. Manage NS's tire inventory across the network to ensure on time deliveries of the total quantity order and enforce compliance of deliveries with NS's tire vendor.
Principle Duties:
- Track alerts and follow up with terminals on proactive measures to address alerts
- Supports notification and resolution of critical alerts
- Help troubleshoot non-reporting devices
- Interface with Telematics providers such as Goodyear for software or device improvements
- Collaborates to help drive systematic results for process management of alerts
- Develop reports to help identify challenges and benefits of telematics
- Make recommendations for future telematics products to drive proactive maintenance opportunities
- Drive process changes to improve management of telematics, tire inventory and improve customer experience
- Coordinate installation of new devices
- Develop and maintain SOW for field device installations
- Maintain and improve upon SOW for tire management
- Manage and correct compliance issues with vendors on tire management
- Make necessary updates and recommendations to the AAR job code matrix for new componentry related to the telemetry rollout.
- Manage invoicing for Telemetry
- Assist road equipment team with chassis license plate & registration management
