Primary Purpose: Performs staff and administrative support for Mechanical Department. 

  

Principal Duties:

  • Acts as department Security Point of Contact.
  • Oversees the Discipline, Violation and Grievance processes and employs ongoing communication with the Labor Relations Department within restricted time constraints.
  • Onboards employees by ordering necessary work equipment, granting required system accesses, and providing guidance to employees new to the Mechanical Department. 
  • Collects, maintains, processes, publishes, or distribute safety statistics, personal injury statistics, equipment trouble reporting, and property damage reporting. 
  • Processes personnel status changes and assists with other personnel related and confidential information. 
  • Serves as the Department Reporting Manager and acts as liaison in solving Credit Card related issues with Accounts Payable Department and Human Resources Department. 
  • Utilizes delegated authority to approve expenditures such as purchasing card transactions, travel expenses, purchase orders, requests for payment, and others on behalf of the senior leadership. 
  • Collects, prepares, and distributes various and complex weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. 
  • Communicates with and delivers event reporting to the Federal Railroad Association. 
  • Serves as Department Wireless Administrator. 
  • Organizes and plans department events and meetings to promote employee engagement and enhanced communication. 
  • Assists with Capital Budget preparation, submission and filing. 
  • Supports Records Management Processes. 
  • Acts as back up to Mechanical Administrative Support Staff and Mechanical Administrative Support Staff members. 
  • Performs additional administrative functions as assigned.
