This role is a year-round General Claims Associates Role. You will answer and respond to telephone calls and assists with claims related tasks. They also provide assistance and superior customer service while administering transactions. Formal in-house (paid) training is provided.
The hours for the position will flex and may be scheduled around a student's academic obligations in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's program. The average hours for the position are approximately 15 - 20 hours per week. The scheduled hours could be anytime during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
The rate of pay for this position is $21.00 per hour. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the insurance industry while working toward completing your college education!
Job Responsibilities
Assist with property damage claims by bringing a prompt and amicable resolution.
Assist to verify coverage on claims and contact parties involved.
Initiate phone calls to assist scheduling appointments at repair facilities, to assist in assessing damage.
Assist adjusters by contacting witnesses, police departments, attorneys, or other insurance.
Claims are settled and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law.
Job Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Prior experience interacting with the public in a professional setting is preferred.
Strong organizational skills.
Multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Technical aptitude, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Currently working toward an associates, bachelor's, or master's degree.
Ability to think critically, use resources and seek answers.
