Job Description:

The Nextracker - Network Communication/SCADA Engineer will be based in Nashville, TN. Our team's goal is to facilitate a positive customer experience with NEXTracker by providing best-in-class service and support.  The Network Communications Engineer within the NEXTracker Asset Management team is responsible for supporting the remote installation, commissioning and monitoring of the world's largest installed base of solar array single-axis trackers. This role will work with our new and existing customers to establish remote data feeds from customer power plants to NEXTracker's secure data centers.  The role will have the opportunity to work with Engineering and IT experts to design connection solutions and facilitate the secure use of those systems.

 

 

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do…

  • Setup and maintain network communication between NEXTracker and our global client(s) in a cyber-secure way.
  • Configure and customize network equipment with client-specific information.
  • Troubleshoot connection problems in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up with clients using NEXTracker's case management system

 

Here is some of what you'll need (required)…

  • 3+ years of experience in building and maintaining computer networking, including:
  • Advanced certification in network design and implementation
    • Examples CCNA, CCNP, Network +
  • Setup and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks, firewalls and VPN tunnels.
  • Knowledge of ACL configuration and how to validate ports and services affecting communication between endpoints, a plus.
  • Awareness of network security concepts and practices
  • Other Requirements:
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with cellular networks and remote access points (e.g. cradle points)
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux (bash and command line interface) OS
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and BIOS
  • Experience using Wireshark to perform packet captures and validate traffic flows.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
