Job Description:

The Manager, Product Applications will be based in Hyderabad, India. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Product Applications. The Manager, Product Applications will support our product development team through the product development cycle, existing products in construction, sales support, and engineering solutions for field related applications. He/She will manage the team that performs new part testing for form fit and function (FFF). This includes testing of individual components as well as full tracker rows, installation review for constructability, and product improvement strategies. It will require cross functional leadership with new product introduction, project management, product management, supply chain, and project engineering. This position will be responsible for both configuring existing tracker products to meet customer needs and identifying requirements for new products, in addition to the new product development process.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Form Fit and Function testing and report generation.
  • Management of multiple projects and personnel
  • Develop customer-facing product documentation and presentations
  • Identify opportunities for tracker installation improvements and value engineering
  • Analyze and suggest areas for value engineering to provide most ideal solutions
  • Solutions for Customer Issues in construction
  • Identify when Nextracker product changes are required and define requirements
  • Drive business processes to ensure scalable, accurate product configuration across Nextracker's global sales pipeline.
  • Travel to customer sites, suppliers and 3rd party testing facilities.
  • Review and update Engineering documents.

Here is some of what you'll need (required)

  • B.E/B.Tech(Mechanical Engineering) graduate with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical/Structural engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Solar Trackers, PV panels, or other ground mounted solar racking systems.
  • Experience with:
    • Structural load testing and validation.
    • Designing and constructing ground-mounted solar racking systems (fixed or tracker)
  • Experience in managing and negotiating relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Experience in team handling.
  • Flexible to travel.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences

  • Utility-scale system experience highly preferred
  • Subject matter expertise in:
    • ASCE 7-10 and other structural / building codes
    • IEC & UL Tracker Standards
    • IEC & UL PV Panel Standards
    • PV Syst.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
