Job Description
The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, is seeking an outstanding Board-certified/ Board eligible dermatologist to join a growing dermatology practice with close collaboration with the Cancer Institute, with patient needs ranging from complex to general dermatology, with opportunities for both inpatient consultative services and outpatient care. Our goal is to offer the highest quality care to patients in East Tennessee as well as the surrounding radius which includes Southeastern Kentucky, Southwestern Virginia and Northwestern North Carolina.
Highlights include:
This practice is solely dedicated to dermatology.
The practice is growing, currently consisting of 1 board-certified dermatologist in their 7th year after graduation as well as one physician assistant beginning their first year of practice.
Practice services are at a single institution at UT Medical Center, Knoxville.
The practice aims to provide more expanded training experiences to Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residents, as well as 3rd and 4th year Medical Students, complementing current community practice experiences. The academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
We are committed to fostering relationships with our colleagues (Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Surgical subspecialties, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, General Internal Medicine, Critical Care) in the multi-disciplinary care of our patients.
We hope to grow into a regional presence for the care of complex dermatologic patients, allowing care closer to home, rather than traveling to other academic centers.
The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville is one of the three main teaching centers for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center's College of Medicine in Memphis. This opportunity comes with a full time non-tenure track faculty appointment.
Prior experience is helpful but not required. A hospital guarantee salary is available as well as a full and extensive benefit package. Care of adults age 14 and older is encompassed within this practice. The individual we are seeking will have completed a dermatology residency, with interests in both inpatient and outpatient care settings, and both general and complex medical dermatology. Inpatient consults are provided during work hours Monday through Friday, with no current expectations for night or weekend call. Career goals and disease state interests will be supported and encouraged.
