Job Description:
The Ohana Therapist – Unlicensed reports to a Clinical Program Manager of the outpatient clinic. The Therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents and their families. The Therapist may also conduct diagnostic evaluations of children and adolescents. Additionally, the Therapist provides mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. Other important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, quality of care and outcomes measurement, professionalism, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and curiosity and comfort prioritizing safety and quality of care.
Experience
Experience working with children, adolescents and families in a mental health setting in preferred. Training in either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred, but not required. The therapist will be expected to participate in training in EBT (evidence-based therapies); education and supervision activities connected to identified areas of clinician interest and programmatic needs of Ohana.
Education
Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology or Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment as well as ongoing required training.
Licensure/Certifications
ASW, AMFT, or APPC status with CA Board of Behavioral Sciences required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. AVADE certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire. Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or other evidence-based therapy for children or adolescents preferred. Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 Professional staff authorization yearly. Live Scan fingerprint clearance required by the Department of Healthcare Services is a job requirement.

Assigned Work Hours:
The unlicensed therapist will work 40 hours a week during open business hours that may include: Monday through Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 9am-5pm.

$61.52The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
