Position qualifications:

Bachelors' degree in Business Management, Communications, or related field preferred.  Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants is required. Previous experience in fundraising for educational programs strongly preferred.

 

Job purpose:

Provides support to the President of Mind Springs Foundation in writing proposals and relationship management.  This individual plays an important role in increasing revenue for Mind Springs, Inc. with a focus on grant writing, and stewardship of existing Foundation and Corporate partnerships. The candidate selected for this role will develop compelling proposals that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of Mind Springs Health, and also help establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector.

  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access, as well as using online databases (eTapestry, SAMS.GOV, Grants.gov, Guidestar, DonorSearch, Foundation Center, Tableau and others) and other sources to conduct research on potential funding prospects.
  • A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants is required.
  • A high level of computer literacy is required; experience in fundraising for educational or health programs strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
     

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop.  Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs Health sites or within the community. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental disorders. Possible potential for exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
