Position qualifications:
A master's degree in a human service-related field, Juris Doctorate, and/or licensure as a Registered Nurse with leadership experience preferred. We are looking for candidates with experience in infection control and/or risk management with relevant certifications along with five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience.
Job purpose:
This position provides oversight of the Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assessment/Process Improvement for nursing, compliance, and risk management programs for both our Inpatient and Outpatient facilities utilizing a data-driven approach that sets priorities supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
Knowledge, Skill & Ability(include materials and equipment directly used):
- Comprehensive knowledge base and understanding of regulatory requirements as relates to compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation, and the State of Colorado Regulation.
- Ability to provide leadership both independently and as a member of management teams in decision making, implementation, quality/regulatory compliance, and improvement.
- Strong knowledge of clinical processes and operations in a psychiatric health care setting
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent skill sets in Windows based computer applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent skills and strong experience in data aggregation and analysis with the ability to create clearly defined presentations
- Strong analytical skills relevant to support the Quality and Regulatory Compliance role
- Ability to create and support team activities designed to strengthen processes intended to ensure regulatory compliance
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all patient information per HIPAA regulations, federal and state law, and organizational policy
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and outpatient risk and safety practices
- Knowledge and skilled in tuberculin skin test screening and follow-up
- Knowledge of Infection Control and transmission concepts
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions. Possible exposure to communicable disease.
