- Job Details
- Performs diagnostic CT procedures.
- If assigned radiographer job duties, also performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical and portable radiographic exams.
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.
- Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary.
- Practices aseptic technique as necessary.
- Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access.
- Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
- Provides patient education.
- Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.
- Provides practical instruction for students and partners.
- Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.
- Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
- Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program
- Radiographer experience
- CT experience
- ARRT Radiography registration required in
- ARRT Computed Tomography registration required
- WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin
- CPR/BLS certification required
