Overview:

 

This position is responsible for providing financial support to the organization including overseeing balance sheet review and account reconciliation process to ensure balance sheet integrity, coordinating the preparation of internal and external financial statements, and coordinating the annual audit. This position will provide financial oversight of the development of analytical tools supporting physician practices and product groups. This position will assist the department manager in the coordination of project assignments and provide technical review/assistance on projects prepared by department coworkers. Responsible for performance of special projects as necessary. Serves as a resource of information for other personnel. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: At least five years of financial analysis experience.
  • Other skills & knowledge:
    • 1. Extensive experience with month end close process and generation of internal and external financial statements, including consolidation.
    • 2. Excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
    • 3. Ability to work with persons at all levels of the organization, including administrators.
    • 4. Demonstrated ability to frame analytical questions, perform technical financial analyses, balance time, communicate results of analyses through clear written, graphical, and oral presentation skills and maintain collaborative work relationships through employment of assertive consulting techniques.
    • 5. Must work independently to meet project deadlines.
    • 6. High level of proficiency in PC applications, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • 7. Strong team orientation.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Licensure: CPA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Healthcare financial reporting experience.
    • Public accounting experience.
    • Lawson financial system experience.
  • Other skills & knowledge:Experience with Microsoft Access is desired.
