Overview:

 

Senior Auditor - Data Analytics - CPA, CIA or CFE

HYBRID ROLE: Mostly Remote with ability to be onsite as needed (up to at least once a week) from either Springfield or St. Louis.

 

Internal Audit is responsible for assessing risk areas and for developing a plan to gain a more in-depth understanding of significant risks to the organization, while evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control environment. This function performs risk assessments, reviews, and internal audits throughout Mercy. Internal Audit is a Mercy-wide function that focuses on operational, financial, and compliance audits, assists Mercy's external audit firm as needed, and responsibilities also include consultations/intervention work.

The Senior Auditor - Data Analytics is responsible for all leading aspects of an audit, including planning and executing the audit, development of the risk matrix and audit program, coordination of fieldwork with process owners, documenting and evaluating audit results, and report writing. Participates in process walkthroughs with process owners to review and analyze existing controls to identify gaps in controls and potential improvement opportunities. Additionally, the Senior Auditor - Data Analytics is responsible for developing data analysis for audit projects utilizing Computer Assisted Audit Tools.

Travels to other Mercy communities approximately 5% of time. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards; and acts as an effective team member to assist in the achievement of the department's goals and objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3 years experience.
  • Required Education: B.S. degree in accounting or related field experience.
  • Other:  Experience working with computer-aided auditing, continuous monitoring, and Computer Assisted Audit Tools (ACL, IDEA, Tableau).
  • Certifications: CPA, CIA or CFE
  •   Knowledge of audit standards and practices with strong analytical capabilities.
  •   Ability to evaluate the internal control environment with a high degree of objectivity and identify significant business risks to the organization.
  •    Must be an effective communicator with the ability to present audit findings and results to department management.  •    Establish and maintain effective working relationships and assigned audit staff in completing tasks.
  •    Plan and manage multiple projects as well as work independently to meet project deadlines.
  •    Strong written and oral communication skills.
  •    Must be proficient with computer software, primarily MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Preferred Experience: Healthcare industry auditing, accounting, or business analysis experience.
