Overview:

 

Assist in providing a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, and staff on the Labor and Delivery (L&D)/Childrens (5th) floor and the locked down unit. Assistants work 8 1/2 hour shifts that are placed on a variable schedule. Shift duties include, but are not limited to: Manage access to the L&D/Childrens floor and the locked down units within by utilizing the Easy Lobby visitor management system; Writing detailed reports on significant events; Maintaining a high level of training; Have working knowledge and understanding of the operation of Easy Lobby visitor management system; multi line phone system; infant protection system (HUGs), video security system, door access system, and fire alarm protection system and how it functions; Maintain and foster good working relationship with law enforcement and other outside agencies; Have a detailed understanding of Lost and Found; Have a detailed understanding of the Patient Valuables policy and procedure; Have a detailed understanding of the cash handling and deposit process; Assist Department of Family Services with child custody issues; Have a detailed understanding of Report Exec Dispatching system. Have a detailed understanding of Report Exec Reporting system. Assist with administrative duties as needed including: typing forms, enter badge access requests, remove badge access/modify existing badge access to hospital, tracking items and documenting logs for department, notetaking during meetings, ensuring copies are made of documents, and other administrative duties as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior customer service experience.
  • Required Education:  High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Certifications:  BLS.
  • Other:  Must be 21 years of age. Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated skill in human relations and communications. Excellent computer skills required Knowledge: Required training includes but is not limited to:Technical training includes end user training on basic computer, video management system, door access system, infant and child protection system, report-dispatch system, and visitor management system.
