1 holiday call per year

6 Saturday or Sunday call per year

 

Overview:

 

Same Day Surgery/Pre Procedural and Phase II is a fast-paced department providing care to pre- and post-op patients providing care and comfort throughout the patient's stay.  We work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other healthcare workers to provide patient care.  We monitor vitals and lab results and report abnormalities to our physicians  promptly.  SDS nurses must be proficient with their IV skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  Critical thinking and communication skills are also essential.  SDS nurses educate patients on pre and post op care.  The shifts vary allowing flexibility and work life balance.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
