Overview:

Oncology Infusion Coletta is a hospital-based Oncology Infusion Center providing care to an adult population. This is a 30-chair infusion room that specializes in oncology and outpatient IV therapy infusions in a new cancer center. This diverse unit is fast-paced and busy, with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses to care for. We provide specialized services such as first in human clinical trials. Seeking a nurse who is enthusiastic to work for a nationally accredited Cancer Center while providing exceptional care during outpatient infusions.

The team lead supports the team with minimal supervision, plans, assists in the provison of nursing in outpatient setting with a number of therapeutic procedures. Responsbile for the care of the patient, equipment supplies and inventory of the department. Works under the Manger of Infusion services. Has some input into budget. Inter-relates with other department personnel in a positive and collaborative manner. Assists with scheduling patients for procedures and coordinates with other departments as required. Ensures accurate and timely charging and documentaiton required. Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision and values of Mercy.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Experience: One year clinical experience required.

    Experienced with pumps, infusions, IV policies and procedures related to PICC, central and peripheral line maintenance

  • Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
  • Certifications:
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
  • Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
