Overview
Monitors and coordinates patient care activities within the Nuclear Medicine departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Assist in the performance of a variety of Nuclear Cardiology Stress testing including Treadmill and Pharmacologic stress tests.

  1. This is primarily a Monday-Friday position. 
  2. The hours for this position will be primarily 08-1630, but there may also be 0630-1500 & 07-1530 hours to cover vacations. The training will be 630-1500 or 07-1530.
  3. Description of the duties:
    1. Calling patients prior to outpatient appointment to provide instructions on prepping for the test.
    2. Patient prep for Cardiac Nuc Med Stress exam - Epic documentation, starting IV, administering resting nuc med dose.
    3. Completing a pharmacologic or exercise stress test on outpatients, inpatients, and occasionally an ED patient.
    4.  ECG interpretation - classes and direct in-person instruction. 
    5. BLS & ACLS will be on a quarterly basis via RQI.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of a state approved School of Nursing; Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Licensure: Current RN licensure with State Board of Nursing in the state of practice or current RN temporary work permit in the state of practice.
  • Certifications: Must be willing to complete Code Blue classes at Mercy. Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. Must have a current ACLS card or complete an ACLS course within six months of hire date.
