Overview:
Assists various managers in the supervision of nursing units and other department activities. Acts as a clinical and administrative resource for coworkers and patients. Represent the leadership team thru collaboration with administrator. Serves as the Patient Placement supervisor of throughput, high-level overview of all admissions ensuring correct patient placement, collaboration with ED , outpatient and in-patient departments regarding throughput Oversees the staffing of each inpatient nursing unit based on census, acuity and staffing grids. Maintains staffing accordingly and adjusts as needed. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Demonstrates right relationships and Just Culture with regards to coworker relations and duties. An ultimate accountability to perform responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mercy mission, values, and service standards.
The Administrative Supervisor has oversight of all admissions in the appropriate bed based on the patient's diagnosis, stability of the patient, physician's preference, the admission criteria for each patient care unit listed in the Patient Placement policy and the staffing and activity on each patient care area. The Administrative Supervisor continuously monitors the staffing and activity on all patient care divisions and takes this into consideration when placing patient. The Administrative Supervisor monitors the staffing on all inpatient nursing areas and adjusts according to the census and division guidelines throughout each shift. The Administrative Supervisor collaborates with Staffing HUB on all staffing changes . The Administrative Supervisor is the Leader and Administrative representative during the evenings, weekends and holidays when no other Administrative staff is on site. There is an Administrator on call and available at all times as a resource for the Administrative Supervisor
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of accredited nursing program
Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of Missouri as a Registered Nurse.
Experience: Three to five years hospital nursing experience
- Preferred Experience: Charge Nurse, Clinical Lead or other Supervisor Role
Certification/Registration: BLS and ACLS prior to completing orientation
