Overview:

 

Demonstrates the ability to work all areas in the Retail Shops to ensure smooth operations, which includes handling financial transactions and covering volunteer scheduling gaps. Responsible for operational functions, stocking and merchandising, inventory control, and assists supervisor with customer relations of two Gift Shops. Helps oversee and assist all Mercy Washington volunteers, including assisting with scheduling and training. Must be flexible, able to prioritize work, and have excellent customer service skills. Reports to Supervisor Volunteer Services and Gift Shop. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Requires High School diploma.
  • Licensure: None.
  • Experience: Inventory control experience in a retail setting with accounting background.
  • Certifications: None.
  • Other:
    • Proficient on the computer.
    •  Preferred Experience: Previous experience using Yellow Dog inventory system. 
    • Prior retail experience and/or knowledge of POS system and working with volunteers preferred.

    • Must be willing to travel daily, between two buildings, a half mile apart, to move inventory, pick up deposits, and respond to needs.

    • Requires strong organizational skills, computer literacy, good interpersonal skills, as well as good written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a team.

    • Must possess the ability to interact with diverse populations in a positive manner.

    • Must exercise good judgment, be able to effectively deal with problems, maintain good interpersonal relationships and adapt to change.
