Overview:
Responsible for Health Education that augments medical treatment, with major focus on prevention and early detection. Education sessions for individuals and groups that promote healthy lifestyle changes, healthy outcomes and decrease in complications of chronic illness. Uses principals of adult education. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Registered Nurse degree, Nutritionist, Dietitian
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license- Maintains Annual certification in specific area(s). C.P.R.
- Experience:
- Experience teaching Adult Education
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Maintains current knowledge base and seeks ongoing education to enhance teaching skills.
- Keeps current on changes in practice and emphasis.
- Observes universal precautions.
- Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate.
- Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance.
- Meets Health System attendance standards
- Performs related duties as requested by Director of Clinical Services.
