Overview:

As the Program Manager, you'll spearhead the comprehensive management of medical students, residents, advanced practice professional students, and job shadows within our hospital and clinics. Elevate our commitment to education by overseeing the strategic partnership between Mercy and top-tier universities or colleges, ensuring the seamless delivery of high school health care career programming in Mercy community counties. Take charge of the Continuing Medical Education Program, driving its operational excellence and fostering facility and community awareness. •    Establishes and maintains relationships with medical students and advanced practice professional students and is point of contact for the student experience.
•    Acts as a liaison between students, preceptors, and programs.
•    Provides all student orientations and onboarding needs for their experience with Mercy.
•    Manages all housing matters and issues as they arise.
•    Builds and maintains strong relationships with medical schools, Education Centers, and other medical education programs, increasing medical student presence in the physician community. 
•    Recruits preceptors to meet medical education rotation requests.
•    Equips preceptors with tools for successful rotation, education, and lecture experiences. Assists in scheduling all medical students, advanced practice professional students, and resident rotations.
•    Guides and leads the direction and expansion of program.
•    Maintains accurate Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity files, tracking expenses and revenues, and maintains appropriate disbursement/return of funds for all CME programs. 
•    Efficiently plans, organizes, and executes CME events, prioritizing tasks and delegating work for timely completion. 
•    Cultivates a strong network of CME professionals to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.
•    Demonstrates leadership in navigating state medical board and ACCME rules for CME accreditation.
•    Ensures all CME activities comply with accreditation requirements, including on-going hospital-based education programs such as grand rounds. 
•    Manages financial responsibilities by overseeing budgets for the CME programs, student housing, high school programming, and medical student rotation revenues and expenses. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Seven (7) years of work experience in a health care or related setting. Experience with budgeting and development of financial pro formas is required. Work experience should include knowledge of state medical boards and CME accreditation requirements, medical students and preceptor coordination, and partnerships with medical centers and community-based organizations.
  • Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in health care or related field preferred.
