Overview:

 

The Financial Coordinator – Lead is responsible for monitoring and reporting collection activity, assisting in establishing collection targets, preparing trend analysis, and assist the supervisor in monitoring receivables. Must be capable of handling large volume of daily transactions and deal effectively in stressful situations. Performs duties in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Minimum high school diploma.
  • Experience: 5 years' experience in general medical office duties required.
  • Other: Extensive knowledge of insurance plans, policies, procedures, and expected reimbursement for CPT and ICD-10 coding. Knowledge of managed care, billing software, claims procedures, word processing, spread sheet preparation, and medical office procedures required. Ability to type 40 wpm. Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to communicate well with physicians, staff, patients, and representatives outside of Mercy. Problem-solving abilities aligned with understanding the information. Ability to exhibit good judgments and to rapidly identify and initiate corrective actions when problems arise. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, patients, and physician offices. Ability to work independently.
