Overview: Healthcare PBI - Data Visualization Engineer - Power BI Developer

Position is Remote (work from home).

As a Data Visualization Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Your expertise in data visualization, engineering, and analytics will drive decision-making across the organization. Here are the key responsibilities:

  1. Visualize Insights: You'll create compelling visualizations using tools like Power BIPower Platform, Power Automate, and Office 365. These visualizations will empower stakeholders to understand financial trends, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions.
  2. End-to-End Management: From concept to implementation, you'll oversee the entire lifecycle of visualizations. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, refining user interfaces, and ensuring data accuracy.
  3. Standardization and Best Practices: You'll contribute to standardizing data definitions, processes, and user interfaces. Your goal is to enhance consistency and usability across the organization.
  4. Data Pipeline Architecture: Working closely with Ministry financial data engineers, you'll design and optimize data pipelines. This involves gathering initial datasets, identifying relevant data sources, and documenting visualization requirements.
  5. Analytics Focus: Your work will primarily revolve around financial statistics, healthcare, and labor. You'll partner with finance business analysts to extract meaningful insights from data.
  6. Collaboration: You thrive in a collaborative environment, actively seeking input from colleagues. Micromanagement isn't your style; you prefer leaving your desk to collaborate effectively.

 

Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates programs for functional or operational areas.

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.

Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding and tests/debugs programs.

Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards.

Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.

May train users in conversion and implementation of system.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of relevant technical or business work experience.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Preferred Education: A relevant degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Graphic Design, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in data modeling, industry-standard BI tools, and experience with data analysis.
  • Certifications: Consider certifications in Microsoft, Business Intelligence (BI), and/or Databricks.
  • Experience: Prior experience with PowerBI, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and PowerQuery (a.k.a. M code).
  • Data Management Languages:  Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python preferred.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    1. Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
    2. Power BI Data Analyst Associate
