Overview:

The Director – Primary Care & Population Health Finance is a strategic and functional leader that will perform traditional financial leadership functions. This role will be primarily responsible for value revenue reporting and forecasting to confirm performance and integration of payment model and care model to strategic goals and long-range financial planning. Additional focus on revenue opportunity analysis, financial reporting for operations and assessment of new services and operational and clinical enhancement within Population Health, Primary Care and value revenue for all Mercy communities. This role supports leadership and operations through understanding of Population Health and Primary Care operational areas, value-based care knowledge, strong financial accounting acumen and keen analytical skills.   •    Forecasts and monitors value-based revenue and performance at both payer and community levels, overseeing monthly accruals and conducting variance analysis for value revenue across all Mercy communities.
•    Strengthens financial modeling of risk contracts to ensure precise reporting and analysis of ongoing performance.
•    Coordinates planning and reporting for all demographics served by Mercy, spanning Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid, Exchange, and uninsured populations. This entails partnering with leadership and internal teams to assess performance of value contracts across communities and payors.
•    Collaborates with data analytics teams and operations to improve variances in priority areas of performance and maintain measurement of a cohesive set of economic results.
•    Oversees the annual revenue forecasting encompassing goal establishment, coordination with leadership, timeline supervision, development of analytical insights, and presentation of the annual forecast.
•    Collaborates with Contracting team to provide financial analysis of value performance by payor to guide renewal negotiations.
•    Facilitates and coordinates regular audits of payor financials to confirm accuracy, partnering with outside vendors for actuarial analysis, if needed.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in financial management with responsibility for overall general accounting and preparing financial projections and complex financial feasibility studies.
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • Preferred Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree preferred.
  • Experience preferred: CPA certification and public accounting experience preferred. Healthcare experience highly preferred.
