Overview:

Seeking for this individual to start in May 2025.

 

This role is responsible for providing vision and overall management for all academic services in the specialty area of nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

 

•    Provides academic and administrative leadership to advance the school's mission in education, practice, and service within a shared governance environment.
•    Identify, recruit, retain and develop outstanding diverse faculty and staff. 
•    Engage with alumni, the health care community, and state and federal government officials to advance the goals of the College and the nursing program.
•    Provides input into budget planning, maintain departmental budgets and planning documents, and supervise resource allocation and fundraising efforts.
•    Administers grants, agreements, and contracts associated with academic support and student success initiatives in nursing education. 
•    Ensures faculty development in quality teaching/learning methodologies, academic integrity and appropriate credentialing.
•    Monitors program admissions criteria to facilitate student success, retention and program growth, and continued program accreditation.
•    Designs, delivers, and evaluates instruction.
•    Evaluates student performance in classroom and clinical setting with ongoing efforts for student success.
•    Develops and maintains a Student-Centered focus.
•    Supports and serve as student advisor to assigned group of students.
•    Participates in activities that ensure program effectiveness.
•    Collaborates with other departments to promote interdisciplinary initiatives.
•    Ensures utilization of learning technology platforms such in support of effective teaching and learning.
•    Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities.
•    Participates in College and community activities.
•    Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5 years in nursing discipline as well as 3 years of experience in nursing leadership to include experience with adult education/learning; nursing education, curriculum design and evaluation; program assessment; compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements; and faculty evaluation and development. Meets discipline program accreditation requirements as appropriate.
  • Required Education: Doctorate in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing and Doctorate in related field of study such as Education.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as an RN (Registered Nurse) in the state of practice.
  • Preferred Experience: Building and supervising graduate nursing programs. Supervising nursing programs at multiple locations (multi-site program). Progressive and yet contemporary in program philosophy and approach. Has demonstrated consistent success in student retention, graduation, and NCLEX pass rates.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Other: 5 years of experience in nursing leadership to include experience with adult education/learning; nursing education, curriculum design and evaluation; program assessment; compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements; and faculty evaluation and development. Experience leading and supervising in a multi-campus, multi-location nursing program.
