Overview:

 

The Volunteer Services Coordinator promotes and coordinates Mercy's volunteer program.

 

Recruit volunteers including interviewing and screening all volunteer applications.Organize, maintain and report all volunteer records, meeting all required timelines (annual flu shot, compliancy training, etc.)Coordinates volunteer quarterly meetings and social activities, as well as monthly volunteer board/leadership meeting Ensures competency by training all volunteer groups (senior/teen) in all aspects of their position, maintaining appropriate contact and supervision. Ensures smooth operation by maintaining and updating the volunteer database and hours-worked documentation of volunteers.Coordinates health screenings including maintaining screening supply stock and screening competency.Coordinates preparations for educational programs including scheduling speakers, facility preparation.Writes, prepares, and oversees mailing of all volunteer communication Coordinates the daily functions of all volunteer activity including scheduling, assisting volunteers and the public.Orders and organizes supplies, ensuring adequate quantities are available to meet program demands.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Post-secondary bachelors degree or equivalent/relevant business experience
  • Experience: 2-3-yrsCertifications:
  • Other:
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
    • Appreciation for and ability to communicate with both the senior and teen populations.
    • Basic computer skills, and ability to learn.
    • Interpersonal and customer relations skills.
    • Willingness to participate in community activities.
    • Well organized.
    • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
