Job Details
• A hospital in California is looking for an experienced MedSurg/Tele/Oncology nurse for a travel contract.
• - Unit: MedSurg/Oncology
• - # beds: 27
• - Shifts: 7a, 7p
• - Floating: other med surg units
• - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: General medical surgical, GYN, appy, chole, some spine cases, some joints, patients do not have to be on active chemo to be on the oncology side of unit

Job Requirements
• The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS and CA License.

Schedule Information
• - Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift every two weeks
• - Floor specific orientation: One shift Cerner if needed and 2 shifts on units

Unit Specific Information
• Prefer nurses who have Cerner experience, must have strong central line experience, compassionate care, must like teaching and spending time with their patients;

Additional Details
• - Ratios: 1 to 5 if med surg, 1 to 4 if chemo/tele patient
• - Charge Nurse: Nurse Shift Managers - do not take patient assignments, also staff a resource nurse to help w/ tasks and breaks etc
• - Nurse Aides: Target is 2 per shift
• - Holidays: 2 majors and a minor?
• - Scrub Color: Navy
• - Tele: Remote tele w/ monitor techs
• - Vents: none
• - Hospitalist: In house 24/7
• - IV Team: No IV team, but do have resource nurse that can help; have team for PICC and midlines
• - RT 24/7: Yes
• - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
• - Call: none
