- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ER nurse for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS and CA License.
- Job Requirements
- MUST HAVE 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
- CERNER EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation
- Experience with Peds and Adults
- Schedule Information
- 12 hrs shifts
- Shifts: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
- No block scheduling. Traveler needs to be flexible with the scheduling.
- 3 shifts on unit plus meet with ER educator to make sure all education is completed
- Every other weekend
- 2 out of every 3 holidays
- Unit Specific Information
- ICU is 1:2; peds 1:4; adults 1:4; procedural sedation 1:1
- For peds ER, need to have significant peds ER experience, not just general experience.
- 30,000 kids per year seen in ER.
- Approx 325 visits per day between both ERs
- All diagnosis from minor walk ins to critically ill patients, respiratory failure, asthma, Abd pain, fractures, substance abuse, stroke alert facility, STEMI receiving center
- Some psych holds (maybe 1 per day)
- In the peds ER, they are a receiving center for pediatrics; in adult ER, they are a STEMI, CVA and burn receiving center (there is a burn nurse that will come into the ER to assess)

- MICN CERT REQUIRED AT TIME OF SUBMITTAL FOR THIS NEED
- WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRAVEL TEAMS, INCLUDING DUOS
- Required to float to Peds ER
- Navy blue for RN, cranberry for LVN
