Description
General Summary of Position
Serves as the on-call transplant coordinator for the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute. Works off-site to provide night, weekend, and holiday coverage for the Institute. Triages patient and referring MD phone calls. Responds to organ offers and coordinates transplants. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree of Science degree in the health sciences, nursing required or
- other related field required
Experience
- 3-4 years Professional clinical experience as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or registered dietitian required and
- 1-2 years Candidates with at least 1 year of previous transplant-related experience strongly preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- CCTC - Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator Current D.C. licensure in discipline. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies to administer patient care; effective verbal and written communication skills; flexibility in schedule and tasks, as needed; computer skills; good customer service skills and attitude, team player; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public; ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $59.26
