Please note: This is a Night/ Evening Shift
The Transfer Center Nurse Navigator is responsible for coordinating patient transfers and ensuring the seamless transition of care from one hospital to another. This role involves managing the transfer process from initial request to final placement, facilitating communication between healthcare providers, and advocating for the best possible patient outcomes. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Health's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, from an accredited School of Nursing required
Experience
- 5-7 years Experience in a clinical nursing setting. required and
- 3-4 years Experience in critical care setting. preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure State of Maryland or compact.and the District of Columbia Upon Hire required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer skills with word processing abilities required.
- Must possess strong clinical assessment good skills with knowledge of the nursing process.
- Effectively prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and consistently maintain courteous interactions with all callers, professionals, and staff members
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner.
This position has a hiring range of $41.98 - $75.62
