MedStar Health is looking for a Team Leader Patient Transport to join our team at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center! 

 

As a Team Leader Patient Transport, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient service, and clinical support. Supervises the daily operation of all transportation services within Imaging Services and the entire hospital. Assess, plan and coordinate transportation services for patients. Act as the point person for the department and serve as liaison between staff, administration; radiologists and other physicians; nursing staff and other professional staff within the hospital.

Primary Duties:  

 

  • Acts as department liaison/point person between transporters and Imaging Administration. Establishes and maintains communication within the department and with other hospital departments.  

  • Assists with the selection, training, orienting, and assigning department staff. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information. 

  • Ensures the delivery of quality services for patients and in operations. Acts as an educational resource. Exhibits working knowledge and expertise of current policies and procedures and consults with associates concerning interpretation and administration of such. 

  • Manages and coordinates daily activities of transporters with workload requirements and available personnel. Responsible for staffing schedules and time off requests. Knowledge of report express to assist with payroll. (Timekeeper).  

  • Manages utilization of equipment. Responsible for maintenance of department facilities in a condition to promote efficiency and the health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. Reports on malfunctioning or safety hazards of transport equipment. 

 

 

Qualifications:  

 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 

  • 2 years' experience in the supervision and delegation of staff. 

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) within 90 days of hire. 

  • Strong knowledge of employee relations issues preferred.
