The Sterile Processing Supervisor will oversee the activities of the hospital's central supply personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.

Primary Duties:
Assists in selecting, training, orienting, and assigning department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with office staff to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.
Assists in the development of department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations. Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipment. Directs the requisitioning, sorting, labeling, and issuing of equipment.
Establishes and oversees methods for preparing, handling, and storing sterile equipment and materials. Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions to ensure that adequate supply levels are kept on hand. Oversees sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Supervises the maintenance and preparation of records, files, and other documents.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Associate degree in healthcare field.
3-4 years supervisory experience in sterile processing or experience with sterilizers, surgical instruments, medical supplies, linen utilization, preparation of various trays of instruments for surgical procedures.
Equivalent sterile processing technician experience.
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) certification.
Must maintain annual continuing education credits to maintain certification status.
