General Summary of Position
Conducts analysis under limited supervision to identify actionable strategic insights and facilitate key stakeholder decision making.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Performs advanced analyses, synthesizes data, develops initial findings, and begins to craft recommended strategies in support of the strategic, and business planning processes as well as executive decision-making.
  • Demonstrates competency in all available departmental data platforms (Sg2, Buxton, state data) and leverages as appropriate for project. Determines assignment-specific requirements and approach to collecting data.
  • Applies qualitative and quantitative information to address key questions for executive decision making. Applies those skills to several types of regular deliverables (market share summaries, market scans, ad hoc market intelligence/sizing) to enhance value.
  • Assists with and helps lead analysts in system-wide strategic planning activities such as strategic service line growth planning, ambulatory network planning, facility planning and system strategic planning.
  • Applies working knowledge of healthcare market trends and planning methodologies. Cultivates a topic(s) of expertise and proactively tracks and shares developments in that area.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in health administration, public health, business, finance or science-related field (biology, engineering, etc) required
    • Master's degree Masters degree in health administration or business preferred

    Experience

    • 3-4 years 3-5 years of progressive quantitative analytic experience, established knowledge of health care, and experience in strategic planning, finance or service line operations required

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Certification preferred. preferred
    • SHSMD Strategic Planning in Healthcare Credential preferred. preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge and ability to coach use of Microsoft Excel required (e.g., Pivot Tables, Macros, V-Look-up, etc.).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, experience presenting to in-person and virtual audiences a plus.
    • Demonstrated success with data analysis and interpretation required.
    • Experience using SQL, Tableau, mapping, and business intelligence tools strongly preferred.
    • Collaborates effectively with team members on priority projects and timely development of key deliverables.
    • Highly motivated, self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity and attention to detail who properly exercises independent judgement will be most successful in this role.


    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $124,467
