
Description
Performs all the functions of a Pharmacy Technician and assists the pharmacy manager with inventory management, drug distribution, cost containment, training and performance assessment.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Up to 5 years of technical or other specialized training may also be required
- 1 year of experience at the Washington Hospital Center required
- 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a large teaching hospital required
- DC DOH - Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or equivalent national certification within 180 Days required
- Requires ability to read and write, knowledge of grammar, medical terminology, and proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimal, and keyboard skills.
- May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier and sterilizing equipment); the preparation, comparison or checking of reports, records and related data; and basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application.
