Description

The Senior Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and has accountability for the management of financial, human, and material resources, to ensure quality, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of patient care services for the Department of Nursing. Recognized as a professional role model and promotes an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Department of Nursing, f MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and MedStar Health.
Education

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Health Care Administration required
Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience with 2 years of management and leadership experience required

  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Responsible for activities such as assimilation of raw data, compilation of statistics, display of data, control of fiscal and production activities for the purpose of budgetary analysis and development.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Develops, implements, and evaluates key statistics, reports, and forecasting models to support strategic initiatives.

  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Supervises the administration and management of contracts and agreements assigned to the Department of Nursing, ensuring proper evaluation of new services, renewals, and terminations.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Responsible for the oversight and administration of labor productivity data platform and reporting.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Maintains and updates reporting metrics to MWHC senior leadership regarding productive hours for Department of Nursing against various benchmarks.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Develops and distributes routine financial reports that track various I&E metrics to Department of Nursing senior leadership and MSH nursing leadership teams.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Maintains and updates analytic tools for unit and senior leadership to monitor and improve their FTE utilization and vacancies, as well as projecting agency usage.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT/BUSINESS SKILLS: Develops and manages scheduled reports that support the operations of the Department of Nursing.
