Description
The RN Psychiatric Transfer Coordinator is performing at the top of their licensure to review transfer requests for patients who require inpatient psychiatric care, determine that patient's eligibility and appropriateness for a psychiatric unit within Medstar Health, and communicate details of the transfer request and the potential needs of the patient with the on-call behavioral health provider.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required and
- Master's degree preferred
- 5-7 years Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting, psychiatric emergency department, performing crisis evaluations, or other related experience required and
- Leadership experience and experience working with large healthcare systems preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Upon Hire required and
- AANC certification in psychiatric nursing Upon Hire preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to read and understand medical records required.
